MSc in Sport & Exercise Therapy

Ben began his career graduating with a degree in Sport & Exercise Science from Leeds Beckett University in 2017, which allowed him to gain extensive knowledge in the principles of health and fitness: nutrition, physiology, biomechanics, psychology, weight management, plus strength & conditioning. He then continued his studies at Leeds Beckett, completing his MSc in Sport & Exercise Therapy in 2018. During his studies he worked closely with professional athletes at Leeds Rhinos Rugby Club and shadowed various Physiotherapists in private clinics across Leeds and Preston, helping him gain valuable expertise in injury assessment, treatment and rehabilitation.  

On completion of his master’s, Ben started his employment straight into private practice, where he specialised in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries ranging from young to old, amateur to professional athletes, as well as public health implications from work, posture, muscle imbalances, accidents & more. Paying particular interest in the treatment of shoulders and knee sporting injuries.  

Ben worked in private practice gaining clinical expertise for 5 years before opening his own Sports Injury Clinic in 2023, which he now works alongside his Sports Therapist role at Bridgeman Physio. He is also a fully qualified medical acupuncturist and possesses additional qualifications in KORE Therapy such as musculoskeletal specialist, Amno-fu Chinese abdominal 5-element massage, fire cupping and cranial balancing and stress relief. This allows him to mix his diagnostic analysis skills, rehabilitation procedures and manual therapy treatments with a holistic approach.
